Students who come from out of Warsaw can rely on assistance provided by the College’s units responsible for taking care of students, that is, the Dean Office and the Career and International Cooperation Office.
Students from the European Union can come to Poland with a valid passport (no visa is required). A stay of up to three months does not have to be registered. For longer stays, an EU Citizen Stay Card should be obtained, which is issued to students for one-year periods by Provincial Offices (in Warsaw, it is the Foreigners Section of the Provincial Office of Mazovia Civic Affairs Department, 00-210 Warsaw, ul. Andersa 30, phones 831-48-18 and 813-07-83)
Students from non-EU countries can cross the Polish border with a valid passport and visa (if required). Detailed information is available from Polish Embassies and Consulates.
The College of Tourism and Recreation does not provide any language courses because there is no interest in such courses among the College’s students.
Each candidate takes a written examination to test his/her command of a foreign language (full-time students are examined in English, and part-time students can choose from four languages available).
Full-time study includes 3 semesters of English, each consisting of 4 classes per week (180 classes in total), to be completed by an examination, as well as 3 semesters of a foreign language (to be chosen by the student), each consisting of 4 classes per week (180 classes in total), to be completed by an examination. Part-time study includes 4 semesters of a foreign language (in which the candidate has been tested before admission), each consisting of 120 hours, as well as 2 semesters of another foreign language to be chosen (60 classes in total). The part-time student has 180 classes of foreign languages in total.
III.13 Traineeships
Pursuant to the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the curriculum, students of the M Orłowicz College of Tourism and Recreation do 15 weeks of traineeship in their specialisations.
The traineeship programme is implemented as previously arranged with traineeship providers. Students can choose the place and time of their traineeship. Traineeship following the fourth semester of full-time study takes place in the summertime, i.e. in July, August or September. Part-time second-year students can choose the timing of three-month traineeship between 1 October and 30 September in a specific academic year.
The College selects traineeship providers and signs one-year agreements with them, which can be renewed or terminated. Prior to going for traineeship, the student receives some documents, which must be returned by a specified date. A credit for traineeship is given if the student receives a favourable opinion from the traineeship provider. The Dean of the College, who is responsible for the implementation of the traineeship programme, uses opinions from traineeship providers to give a credit for the fourth semester of study by recording it in the student’s credit book. The M Orłowicz College of Tourism and Recreation cooperates with the following traineeship providers:
